Walking With The Holy Spirit
Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NASB
We usually think of this scripture with people in mind, and it's so true. We need others in our lives helping us, supporting us, and guiding us. Here's the question for the day: if you could only take one person with you on your journey through life who would it be? Your husband? Your wife? Your best friend? A mentor? All of these are good answers - but not the best. My answer? The Holy Spirit. Does that surprise you? Does it seem like the correct Pastor's answer to the question? It's really not. Often times we forget that the Holy Spirit is a person. He's relational. He's our friend, and partner. More than anything, He desires to help us / support us / guide us on our journey through life.
Our Mission as a church is simple. It's Experiencing and sharing a growing relationship with Jesus every day. I believe The Holy Spirit is the key Facilitator in our mission to be fulfilled in your life. Other people are really important, but He is vital. I hope you'll join me starting, September 12th, as we explore some very helpful things regarding what it means to "walk by The Spirit" (Gal. 5:16), as well as some practical ways that we can do that. Two are really better than one on the road of life, and He is the best of all!
